The old saying.. sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same is oh so true....... Yesterday I left work at noon so that I could go home and spend the afternoon with my ex-husband, who has just come back from a 9 month deployment in Iraq, and our daughter. It was good to see him, especially healthy and happy after being away for so long. It was even better to see how happy our daughter was to be with him. I can only imagine how hard it is on her when he is away. I am still effected by him being gone as raising her is basically up to me... anything goes wrong it's basically up to me... at least when he is in the states if I have a problem or she has a problem I can call him and discuss it with him, when he is gone it's hard to do that... so I know a little how it feels to be without him, and remember the times he was gone while we were married. It's a tough job on our children of military men and women have. May God bless each and everyone of them... Now, where was I? Oh yes our day together. It was spent taking him to pick up his Jeep that needed brakes before his trip back to Mississippi, taking him to the airport car rental place and then going to the movies and dinner. We had a really good time together... but..... Bet ya knew that was coming.. didn't ya? Even though I was sad to see him leave this morning because I know that one day was not enough time for our daughter... it was nice to get my house back in order and to be back in control of the remote! lol Yes.... it's true.. even though we haven't lived together for 6 years he still thinks he's in control of the damn remote... what's up with that??? It's MY house.. MY remote... not his! lol But I couldn't bring myself to say anything to him... it seems so petty... but annoying. Like putting his stuff all over the house.. I set up the spare room for him to use while he was there so he had a place to put things but no.... he thought my living room, kitchen counter, kitchen table and washer and dryer were better! lol Oh well... life goes on and I will just grin and bite my tongue when he comes back for Spring Break!
